I had a very different post in mind when I started writing this earlier this morning. Far more cynical and sarcastic. Far more negative. Why? Perhaps it’s because I haven’t had a ‘good’ New Years in a few years… My own doing and not something that I should take out on others. Thankfully, that mood has passed and I’ve moved on.
I’m planning to be more active this year, in many forms. I have a few personal obstacles to overcome here and there but hopefully they will soon be conquered. In the meantime, watch this space…
One of the activities will be an active return to my blogging and my photography. I’ve requested suggestions for articles and/or photo essays and I hope to work on those in the coming weeks. In fact, I have my first topic already, one that I am quite familiar with – Gaming Addiction (thanks Natasha!). I’ve done a bit of reading up from a academic and medical viewpoint as well as some personal introspection and it should be interesting to write. I’ve even found some rather apt (if disturbing) imagery to illustrate it.
I’m also challenging others out there. Friends, family, colleagues or strangers, it doesn’t matter. The challenge is a simple one, yet requires some thought and effort too.
Simply put, show me the beauty of the world through your eyes. Either with a camera, in prose or any other medium that can be used to convey your experience to others.
Share it with me so that I can get to know you a little more than I already do and if you’ll permit it, I’ll share some of it with the world via this blog.
I will begin the gaming addiction article a little later today. But right now, instead of logging into a game and wasting daylight inside, I’m going to go for a walk, as part of my challenge exchange with a rather intriguing young lady I’ve met recently.
Have a good one folks. Let’s see where this year takes us…
